Vision: The Double Barrel Rifles

Vision: The Double Barrel Rifles

14th February

I saw multitudes world over, on mountain tops and cliffs, lying on their stomachs, holding double barreled rifles. All the people were lain at the very edge, with their rifles positioned straight before them; the extra long, side by side double barrels were resting not on land, but in the air.

I saw that none of the rifles had scopes.

On one side, on mountain tops, I saw men and women with rifles. I noticed a man wearing a light brown shirt and he had on a Stetson cowboy hat. I saw that he was wearing brown boots with spurs. All wore light summer clothes, but none were wearing shorts. Further along on the other side, were cliffs where other men and women with rifles were positioned.

I understood that these people world over had lain in readiness with their rifles, prepared to shoot, but it appeared that for an extremely long time nothing suspicious had moved before their sight; nonetheless they waited patiently. The air was clear and silent. These people looked accustomed to waiting for long periods. Though none looked restless, yet they were most definitely, in expectation of shooting something, sometime.

To their absolute amazement, as the people lay there in patient silence, all the rifles' stocks suddenly vanished and the shooters were left holding only the bare double barrels. Everything except the double barrels vanished.

How could they shoot with something that now no more looked like a weapon?

World over the people looked puzzled at what they were left with. Just double barrels. What were they to do?

As they continued holding these double barrels, they noticed that the feel of it had changed. They no more felt like metal, but rather like rolled up charts. Suddenly as all of them unfurled these double barrel charts, everything around them changed. All the shooters and the charts disappeared.

I now saw that every individual, world over, wheresoever they had been taken, had been provided with two walls. These individuals unfurled the charts and as they proceeded to display them on the walls, I noticed that the charts, stuck to the walls by themselves, without glue or pins.

As each peered closely at the charts, they were astounded. These were train time-tables!

As each one looked around where they had been placed, they saw a railway platform a stone’s throw from wherever they stood.

Before each one could grasp what was going on, what they were doing there alone, and how all of this had happened so suddenly, they saw passengers heading towards the train time-tables, reading it and thereafter moving to the platform.

I saw that all the platforms looked disused. These platforms had been constructed a long time ago, and though the essentials were all there, they still required some finishing touches. It appeared that the construction work had come to a standstill a long time ago.

The passengers looked unconcerned about the unfinished construction of the platforms. As whatever had already been built was safe and convenient enough to use, to enable them to board their trains. They knew that the pending building work would be completed.

Every shooter stood alone by his or hers railway timetables, in a dusty area that looked like a temporary car park. The local train timetable was on a smaller wall, whilst the nation-wide inter-city train time-table was placed on a taller and wider wall.

World over these shooters looked perplexed. This new work was completely different from that of shooting the double barrel rifle. They could not even understand what their new job was. All they had done thus far was stand besides these time-tables and watch the excited passengers go by.

Passengers came full of expectation, read the time-table, and moved excitedly to the platform.

But where were the trains for these passengers, these individuals wondered. The passengers knew about the trains but these individuals did not.

Suddenly they understood that the trains these passengers had come for did not at present exist! Nonetheless, they would come into existence as per the timetable.

These individuals were shown a vast world-wide rail network and made to understand how the trains that would arrive on their platforms connected with the others.

The passengers who could read, only needed the time-tables and seemed to require no other help; but there were many illiterate passengers yet to come. Such would require assistance from these individuals.

A wooden table and a chair appeared and I saw these individuals world over seated right next to the train time-tables helping those who could not read. The illiterates would show them a piece of paper on which was written their travel destination and what time they were expected there. Each individual would patiently attend to them explaining which train, according to the time-table they should depart by so they could reach their destination in time.

These individuals, who had been ace shooters, now excelled in their new work. They were given a glimpse of the international rail network and their time-tables; and now as train consultants, no matter in how remote a place their own railway platform was located, they were able to advice passengers on which direct and connecting trains they could take, and how through a great rail network,  if they did not lose heart, then inspite of poor weather or mishaps en route, they could still get to their destination at the time prescribed.

I saw that later, even some literate passengers consulted them, for advice on changing multiple trains, en route to their far-flung destinations.

None saw any trains, but all the passengers and the train consultants proceeded with great confidence, excitement and expectation, that the trains they awaited would certainly come.

Though at this present time, there were no such trains in existence, they would of a certainty appear, exactly according to the time-tables displayed.

Song of Solomon 7:12-13

Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves.

The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved.
