VISION: WHO DAT?

Last week as I sat quietly before the Lord, I heard a line from an old American black and white movie, then I was made to understand that these two words at first were being repeated by a few in America, and then I heard startled voices rising en masse from America, all saying....................

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat?

I now saw in what reference the people asked this question.

I saw an aerial view of America.

People who were going about the streets in pursuit of their daily work, shopping, following their daily routine etc, were looking up at the sky into a vast mirror that covered the expanse of America.

Most people looked well dressed and some looked over-fed, but when they gazed up at the mirror in the sky, the reflection in the mirror depicted quite something else. They saw in the mirror, people wearing rags, looking like hobos, hair unkempt, nails dirty, covered in lice and bugs, many had snakes wrapped around their necks like stoles.

None thought that the reflection they saw was of them.

Instead, startled, then puzzled, they looked up and said :

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat?

Pointing to the mirror and the people in rags, the people asked the politicians, " Who dat America, who dat?"

They asked the church leaders, " Who dat?"

They asked each other, " Who dat?"

They asked all and sundry, " Who dat?"

They could not believe that the reflection that was above them was their own. They looked up, and then back at themselves. When they looked at themselves they saw that they looked neat and tidy and well perfumed.

But the mirror above was troubling many.

When they asked the politicians, " Who dat?"

The politicians said to the people, " Surely, this is not us. We are the land of the free and the brave. That mirror above is some new technology by these I-ranians, I-raq, and dem other banana republic nations, that can't bear to see us so free and so brave. They are like ants trying to niggle the elephant. Can ants win? No way. So go home now and don't forget to vote for me, I've got plans to annihilate every banana republic on earth, never liked bananas anyways........"

The people went to some well-known 'christian' leaders.

"Who dat?" they asked.

"Who wot?" asked the leaders, " Can't see a thing."

Then the earth shook and and there was smoke emanating from the west, leaders were toppling, nation-wide.

"Wots dat den?" the people said pointing to all that was happening in the nation. "And all dem scandals and sex scandals?"

" Oh! dat!", replied the leaders, " Dat, my dear sisters and brothers is because of our foreign policy towards Israel."

" What a relief, to hear dat", said the people who had gathered around such leaders.

" So we're sinnin' and reaping da consequences of our folly, the stench of the sewers an' all dat, and it's only 'cause of our foreign policy towards Israel?

Ya mean to say it's got nothin' to do with us, it's the politicians' fault?
Pheeeeeeeeeew, for a moment we thought we needed to change, to repent of our sins, and stop sinnin', and follow Jesus Christ. We did'nt know that all the Lord Wants from us is that we change our foreign policy."
