Storms and such

We had a massive storm come through last night...I always feel the need to pray during storms. Really all I could do last night was ask God where He is, why prayers haven't been answered (all the ones I have prayed for other people as well) and why He does not deliver His people who have called out to Him for years. My answer was a lightning bolt a few feet from my window that hit the ground with a thunderous roar. Good thing I wasn't standing outside...whoa!!!

Suddenly I felt unclean. I do not think it was a demon, I think it was my uncleaness in the presence of a Holy God. So I prayed for quite a while about that and did a lot of weeping asking God to set my feet (and all of our feet) on that highway of Holiness. I think we all have some kind of uncleaness in our lives.

I did feel led to read Jeremiah 23 again. Verse 17 describes the current "prophets" (Kim Clement and others) with amazing accuracy. Kim Clement keeps saying that God is not going to judge America and that a time of great prosperity is coming and this nation is going to be ruled by a strong God Fearing, God loving Christian for the next president.

Kim Clement has been wrong in almost every detailed prophecy that he has given and yet they all (his adorers and the other "prophets" receive him with accolade and awe. Jeremiah 23 also says that these "prophets" prophesy by the Spirit of Baal and mislead people. I think this is what is happening in Lakeland.

Remember all the storm dreams everyone was having. Vs. 19 says "Behold the storm of the Lord has gone forth in wrath, even a WHIRLING TEMPEST; it will swirl down on the head of the wicked..."

The Whirling tempest is what everyone was seeing. A roiling, massive, black, whirling storm cloud unlike ANYTHING we have ever seen before. I think only God can do this.

Judgement is coming...whether they prophesy against it or not. A man cannot prophesy against God.

That does not mean that God is not moving. He does respond to us (I know this even if right now I cannot "see" Him or "feel" Him in my life). I read today about a woman who came back from the dead.

Woman Wakes Up After Family Says Goodbye, Tubes Pulled

CLEVELAND, Ohio - A West Virginia woman was being transferred to the Cleveland Clinic after walking the line between life and death. Doctors are calling Val Thomas a medical miracle. They said they can't explain how she is alive.

They said Thomas suffered two heart attacks and had no brain waves for more than 17 hours. At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, her heart stopped and she had no pulse. A respiratory machine kept her breathing and rigor mortis had set in, doctors said.

"Her skin had already started to harden and her fingers curled. Death had set in," said son Jim Thomas.

They rushed her to a West Virginia hospital. Doctors put Thomas on a special machine which induces hypothermia. The treatment involves lowering the body temperature for up to 24 hours before warming a patient up.

After that procedure, her heart stopped again.

"She had no neurological function," said Dr. Kevin Eggleston.

Her family said goodbye and doctors removed all the tubes.

However, Thomas was kept on a ventilator a little while longer as an organ donor issue was discussed.

Ten minutes later the woman woke up and started talking.

"She (nurse) said, 'I'm so sorry Mrs. Thomas.' And mom said, 'That's OK honey. That's OK," Jim Thomas said.

Val Thomas and her family strongly believe that the Lord granted them their miracle and they want everyone to know.

"I know God has something in store for me, another purpose. I don't know what it is but I'm sure he'll tell me," she said.

She was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for a specialist to check her out. Doctors said amazingly she has no blockage and will be fine.

A Dream

May 22

Last night I had a strange dream. I was on a large boat, but not by choice--I was actually assigned to the wheelhouse and put in charge of turning the wheel where the Captain ordered the ship to go. We were on the ocean, and suddenly there appeared a huge red circle in the water. As we got closer, it was identified as an under-inflated life raft, barely afloat. Parts of it were below the surface. There were no people on board. This scene appeared twice in the dream. When I awoke, the vision was still with me as I pondered its meaning.

A life raft serves only one purpose: to provide a means of survival when a ship is sinking. The red color of this particular raft is significant, as red is used to get attention or for warnings (danger and stop signs, red lights, etc).

Folks, our ship is sinking. All around us, we are facing a crisis in our economy and in the consequent instability of our government. Answers come like darts to a target, but none seem to hit the mark.

Like the Titanic, there are the false prophecies that assure us our ship is unsinkable, but the ship is sinking, nevertheless. Were there enough life rafts to save all the passengers and crew of the Titanic? No. They were not prepared because no one believed they would be necessary. But in this dream of mine, there were life rafts--big ones. Large enough to save every person, yet each of them was grossly under inflated. They had not been regularly inspected and kept ready for the time when they would be needed. So, though they were thrown into the water, people who clung to them found that they only weighted them down--there was not enough air to hold them up out of the water and they all drowned.

It is a fact that rubber life rafts lose inflation when they are stored in dark places. Only the bright sunlight gives us any hope that they are fully inflated and ready for rescue. Jesus told his disciples to "walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth". (John 12:35) That is why the foolish virgins were not ready--they had no oil to light their lamps!

Has God prepared us a way of escape? Yes, indeed. But there are conditions attached to it. The book of Zechariah tells us that the Lord will be a wall of fire about us. When wildfires break out, the firefighters know they must set "backfires". That means they will intentionally set fires to burn an area ahead of the blaze, so that when the fire approaches, it will merely burn itself out, for it has nothing more to consume. Our God is a consuming fire. He will destroy all wickedness, just as He did in Sodom and Gomorrah. As days of distress approach us, we must make sure we have already burned out anything that we have left as fuel for the fire.

Zechariah was told to measure Jerusalem (2:1-5). This was "new Jerusalem"--the one that will one day come out of heaven. He was to inspect it, and when he did he found that this city did not have walls about it like a fortress and inside there was no temple. God's people are said to be the Temple (1 Cor 6:19) and it is in Jesus that we live , move, and have our being. The Church is comprised of those who worship God in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23). They do not live with one foot in Babylon (confusion, the world system) and one foot in the church. They do not mix the Word with the world, but are a Holy Seed, pure and Royal Priesthood, seated with him (Eph 2:6) in heavenly places.

A Christian sister, Lucinda Evans, writes about her death experience:

"It was over twenty years ago that I went into cardiac and respiratory arrest and was 'caught up' in the Spirit before the Lord. It is as fresh in my heart today as it was then. Truly it was a time set in the heart of the Father for the release of a journey of illumination, refreshing, release and revelation. As I was before Him, he spoke these words to me "I shall be a wall of fire around about you and the glory in your midst" as He released me for my return.
So extraordinary was my time with Him, suffice it to say that words cannot express that which is infinite. It would be a couple of years later before my eyes fell upon the scripture in Zechariah 2:5. When the written word met the spoken word in my spirit, it released vision and a journey toward manifestation. His church is not a building of bricks and stone, but it is a people clothed in His presence, woven into the fabric of His nature, and a painting of His character. A people personifying His love, His grace and His mercy. A people filled with song!

"In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks." Isaiah 26:1

Bulwarks: a fortified wall; a safeguard; a rampart; a means of protection or defense. This people are a city which is strong in the power of His might with SALVATION appointed for their walls and protection. SALVATION is their FORTIFIED WALL which cannot be penetrated, even by darkness. Truly she is resplendent in beauty encompassed about by the fire of His presence. Truly He is radiant beyond comprehension and her glory forever!

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Revelation 21:1-3

The world about us may be in troublous times, but our loving Father has His Word we can lean upon--a shelter in a time of storm, a secure rock on which to stand, and safety if we abide in Him and do not neglect so great a salvation... (Hebrews 2:3)

VISION: TRAIN-WRECK-By Sherry Mason

VISION: TRAIN-WRECK-By Sherry Mason

I had a "vision" in the middle of the night.

I was drowsily praying with my eyes closed and I saw a train crossing a gorge in a mountainous region. The region was completely barren of any sort of vegetation. The mountains were made up of a deep reddish brown, craggy rock. It was very ugly, not beautiful like mountains should be.

The train was heading toward a sheer rock face in which THERE WAS NO TUNNEL OR OPENING OF ANY KIND. As the train crossed the gorge and headed toward the rock face I saw that the train engine was going to smash into the mountain. It did...and I heard the words "The church is headed toward a dead end".

I knew this referred to the church "system", that this was about Lakeland, that this was about the way men have used the church to further themselves...that this was about all the garbage that God wants to take out of His people.

If you dissect the sententce "The church is headed toward a dead end"...it implies the direction they are already going in...that it is "death" rather than life and that it will be brought to an "end". There is a metaphor "headed for a train wreck" that is defined as disaster that is foreseeable but can be averted if a change is made.

In the instance of this vision however...there was no change made and the train was in a very vulnerable place as it crossed the gorge right before hitting the mountain. This train wreck will be unavoidable.

I had an experience that left me shaken many years ago and in that experience God said to me "Arrogrance will be the destruction of the church!".

I believe the "church" (I am talking about the religious system, the structure of the system (even within non denominational fellowships) and the hierarchy setup MUST be destroyed. God told me that He must first destroy the church before He can rebuild it because HE WILL BUILD HIS CHURCH AND HE WILL HAVE ONE WITHOUT SPOT, WRINKLE....ETC.

I don't know how all this will look but I believe my vision is a true one...and it won't be long until we see it.

The All Too "Visible Church"-By George Davis

The All Too "Visible Church"

By George Davis

QUOTE:

We must come to understand the "Kingdom of God" as the reign or rule of God, NOT as a physical power structure. God's domain, His Kingdom, is not expressed with earthly pomp or ceremony. Visible thrones, scepters and diadems, do not accentuate it. It is not OF THIS WORLD that it should require an earthly headquarters. It is not here nor there--on this mountain or that.

A Candlestick All of Gold-by T. Austin-Sparks

"A Candlestick All of Gold"
by T. Austin-Sparks

Chapter 1 - Its Function

Reading: Ex. 25:31-40; 37:17; Zech. 4:1-7.

"And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold." (Ex. 25:31). It is the latter part of the sentence that is the more important - "a candlestick of pure gold," but there is something very significant and important about the former part. "Thou shalt make..."
