Methuselah, a golden eagle, learning to fly after 27 years in a cage. Photo: Murdo MacLeod
Grounded and caged for 27 years, Methuselah has just regained something that every self-respecting golden eagle needs: her wings. After nearly 30 years in captivity, living in a cage measuring four metres square, the venerable bird of prey has had to be retaught the most basic of skills, flying.
Now, after several months of intensive training at a falconry centre in Fife, Methuselah has come close to regaining some of her natural majesty.
At first, the 31-year-old bird could barely fly for three metres, but now she can soar for hundreds of metres in a single flight.
Methuselah was illegally captured in Scotland by collectors at the age of four and recovered when her owner was prosecuted. The eagle - one of Britain's rarest and most revered birds - was taken by the courts as evidence.
There were unsuccessful attempts to see whether she could breed at a centre near York. In November, she was transferred to Elite Falconry, near Kirkcaldy, where staff have slowly coaxed her back into flight. However, she is too domesticated to be released back into the wild.
Barry Blyther, her trainer, said her physical strength had improved markedly. Now her mental strength needed to recover: at present she feels too insecure to fly higher than 10 metres.
"Her flying skills are those of a bird which has just hatched. It is like teaching a disabled person to walk again," he said.
The golden eagle is one of Scotland's most persecuted birds - naturalists have recorded 85 cases since 1980, while large areas which ought to be heavily populated by the bird are empty of nesting golden eagles. There are only about 440 breeding pairs left in Britain.

Shalom Swarna,
I am glad that you sent this article... There are "Spiritual" implications here that I haven't seen fully yet... Hmmm!!!!! There is a Golden Eagle that is native to this part of Texas and Mexico also... They are beautiful birds...
Father showed my wife how the Golden Eagles were the called out Ones, the Hidden Ones that HE has kept hidden but was now bringing them to the forefront...
There seems to be a connection to the physical Golden Eagle that has been raised in captivity for 27 years, in relation to the Church... This is a "Spiritual" connection...
There is a reference to the Church in this... I can't seem to fit the years, but then I am not that schooled in years concerning the Church... I know that the Nicene Council convened around 300, but it wasn't Constantine who did as much changing as he is allocated to have done... I did a search on this and the link below brings out some very interesting and enlightening information concerning who got the Church off on the wrong path... Constantine just made it the State Religion and satan really had a field day after that!!! Please go to that link I pasted and read the article... It is most interesting and not a really long article...

What I was trying to do was to tie someting to this Eagle story... The point is, the Church has been in captivity and like the Golden eagle at the age of 4years early in its life, (just as the Church went into captivity early in its life). Since then it is as if Christianity has been imprisioned by the rule of man... In the article the heresies started as early on as 160, (from writen accounts), but of course it was going on before that... They were going on when Paul was still alive, and he said that after his death that the ravenous wolves would come in and scatter the flock...
Anyway, back to my train of thought... The Church is having to be re-taught the precepts of Elohim... The doctrines of demons and of men have perverted the True Gospel...
That's about all that I have for now... I do know that there will be a company of people arise, who will cover the earth in the name of Yahshuah "Jesus" and in the power of HOLY SPIRIT and nothing can, or will stop them... They will minister to the Church... From what I can understand and see, this will re-align the Church bringing it back to what Yahsuhah started with in Jreusalem on the day of Pentacost and in the following years of the Apostles...
We have to have our mind cleansed from all the trash of mens doctrines that we have been fed for the past near 2000 years...
Blessings to you my friend!!! If there is anything that I have said that does not set well with your spirit, then let me know what it is, by all means... I am still learning and trying to get it straight...
I bless you and speak words of life and blessings over you, your family and the ministry...

"And the one seated on the throne said, 'Behold! I make all things new.'" Revelation 21:5
The captive church is enslaved to manmade prosperity doctrines, one man church system enslavement, blatant false prophets and ear tickling teachers and domination by self-serving leaders.
Good news for wounded shepherds and sheep; we are being offered freedom. We need to renounce our beguilments of the past and return to sound doctrine and the simplicity of devotion to Christ.
