Vision: "The Silly Bus"

I saw christian leaders in America, running around in a frenzy.

The leaders on either side represented two groups that held extreme opposing views on what was biblical and what was not.

They had heard that God was going to pull down structures.



Now they were afraid that the structures that had provided them with their bread and butter and caviar,  might be pulled down.

Leaders on both sides decided that if they filled their churches with more people, God Could be restrained from pulling down the structures.

But where would more people come from?

Leaders of both groups held regular clandestine meetings in unmarked buses that were parked in a hidden spot. The buses had no signs or number plates on them.

Neither group was aware that the other was also meeting in a bus.

Both groups wanted to expand their membership / readership / viewership base.

They read the polls and realized that there was a large untapped group out there, who were in search of the truth and disillusioned with the present religious system.

" If we could supply them with the truth they're seeking, we could expand our membership / readership / viewership", said the leaders of both groups to their loyal followers. " We have to let these truth seekers know that we're now teaching the truth. We must help to get rid of that disillusionment".

So the leaders met in their respective buses to discuss the syllabus for all the new teaching they were planning to introduce.

So whether they believed in the truth or not, were convicted of it or not, they thought that it was profitable to teach it. In this way, they could serve their new members / readers / viewers with all the truths that they would otherwise be going to the Lord for.

In this way, they would convince the newcomers that a 'change' was underway in their midst.

The leaders believed that they themselves need not be convicted of the truths they taught. The truths were meant to cater to those seeking it.

The leaders were simply looking to expand, so to the degree that the truth made them look good and was not uncomfortable, sure they would preach it, print it, speak it, air it. By building this additional 'truth' structure, they hoped that the other existing structures could survive alongside it. Neither these leaders, nor their followers, repented of their heresies, nor separated themselves from the filth.

" Seeking the truth directly from the Lord could take ages, you'll get so lonely out there on your own. Join us and you're bound to find others your type, here", advertised the leaders.

Both groups learned the keywords from what the truth seekers / the disillusioned were saying, and they created an appealing jargon out of it. Now that everything was available under the one roof, including some truth, those disillusioned by the religious system, to whom the pollsters referred to, would surely join them.

Seeing that both groups had moved from the stand they'd previously taken, the disillusioned and the gullible woul be fooled into thinking that a great 'change' was underway.

I saw a passer-by overhear the syllabus the leaders of both groups seated in their stationary buses, were discussing. The passer-by returned with a spray of paint.

On the front and back and top of each bus he wrote with the spray paint :

" The Silly Bus"
