Scripture for Today : GENESIS CHAPTER 18

Genesis 18

18 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.

8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

13 And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.

16 And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.

17 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.

23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

26 And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:

28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.

29 And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.

30 And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.

31 And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.

32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.

33 And the Lord went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

VISION: SINGAPORE EAGLES

VISION: SINGAPORE EAGLES

15TH March 2014

Around 1995  onwards I had seen this repeated visionflash of Singapore. This went on for years.

I had seen Thomson Road, and other localities in Singapore with no vehicular traffic. Strewn all over the roads were brand new biscuit packets, with very attractive packaging but all were empty. Over a period of time, I saw flashes of Malls/shops selling expensive looking biscuit packets with no biscuits in them.

Now around 1st March 2014 I saw this vision of Singapore.

I saw an eagle sitting in a very dirty place.

Suddenly, as if he heard something, the eagle rose from the filth he had spread his wings out on.

I saw men standing on a high bridge. They looked like military men. They were not wearing their uniform. They had on cream colored shirts and khaki pants.

As the eagle went past, these men who were standing at ease, looked up to see where the eagle was flying to. The stench of this eagle was permeating the atmosphere. The men saw that the eagle was headed toward a water-fall.

After the eagle returned washed and cleansed from the waterfall, I saw that these men looked up and gave the eagle a friendly salute.

I saw that the eagle was carrying a miniature bell, which reminded me of the bells in VISION: Just One Roar Of The Lion

Vision: The Snows of Lebanon

Vision: The Snows of Lebanon

11th March 2014

I saw this vision of Lebanon yesterday.

First, I was shown the snow-covered mountains of Lebanon. Then in a flash, I was given a glimpse of all of Lebanon.

No matter where I looked, I saw chopsticks.

The chopsticks were all long, but the colors, materials and quality all varied.

Firstly I was shown many cheap looking chopsticks, followed by the display of upgraded quality of chopsticks. The chopsticks of  superior quality had engravings, embossing, pictures, the glossy off white chopsticks had  drawings in green, depicting the life of upper class Chinese women.

Within the vision, I found it strange, that chopsticks were so common to everyday Lebanese life.

I wondered where these chopsticks had come from.

I was shown the sea. Floating on the surface were thousands of cellophane wrapped chopsticks, drifting toward Lebanon. Though there were thousands of chopsticks floating on the water, they looked few.

It seemed odd that the chopsticks entered this beautiful country in this strange manner, rather than being shipped into Lebanon, like normal freight.

I was now facing Beirut.

I saw that there were two routes into this City from which these chopsticks entered and then they were distributed nationwide.

Those meant for the use of the multitudes came from the right side of the city; whilst the exclusive, expensive gold, platinum, bejeweled designer chopsticks meant for the use of high government officials from the left side.

Were the Lebanese now eating their Middle Eastern food with chopsticks?

Vision: The Old Boxer

Vision:  The Old Boxer

9th March 2014

I saw an old boxer. He looked demoralized, and battle weary; he did not want to fight anymore. He simply wanted to give up, and retire from life. This fighter had been ready to hang up his boots but an old opponent challenged him back into the ring with threats and jeering.

The warrior had no will to fight and his opponent well knew it, which is why he had pressured the old fighter into one last match in which the adversary felt assured of an easy victory.

This old foe had created pressing circumstances for the warrior, and had continuously mocked, ridiculed, and taunted him;  life had become so intolerable that the old fighter was almost ready to surrender and not fight any further for his long contended rights.

The opponent was delighted that such was the condition of the fighter, but now he wanted to have this old warrior come into the ring, in public, and be humiliated before all, so that others could see and fear, and never  even think to contend on any matter, against so formidable an adversary such as him.

The day of the big fight arrived. The stadium was filled with people who had come to cheer the old warrior on. As the boxer stood in the "square circle", he heard the crescendo of cheers. He could not see their faces, but knew that these special spectators were in the stadium to encourage him not to give up.

The fighter appreciated the encouragement given to him by these nameless faceless spectators; but he felt that he could never get them to understand that all his efforts to fight this formidable opponent had failed. He had come to the end of himself. All his energies were drained. He only agreed to come into the ring, because he simply wanted to surrender; to admit defeat, and walk out of the ring with as much of his body intact as he could. The opponent was making allegations, and claiming territory that rightfully belonged to the old boxer. In all these years, the fighter who had enjoyed many small victories had not been able to defeat this enemy in this particular area of his life. Now in the presence of all, he planned to give up, to yield, to let go.

He  intended to fall down on the very first blow from the opponent.

Vision: Prophets in Thailand

Vision: Prophets in Thailand

7th March 2014

I saw a slender built beautiful Chinese lady in Bangkok. She wore a silk white and gold long dress.

I observed her walking around in the vicinity of top hotels like the Dusit Thani, the Bangkok Regency, and the old Oriental Hotel etc. She moved around the busy market and mall areas, Sukhumvit Road, The Pratunam area/ Indra market, Chao Phraya River, etc.

The beautiful Chinese lady was speaking about the Lord to some of the people who professed to be believers, but they were rejecting the message.

When she asked the Lord about it, He Showed her that the people only gave Him lip service, but their hearts were far from Him.

I asked the Lord why this lady was moving around all the well-known social and commercial areas of Bangkok. I was told that these people, who said they knew the Lord, went about social and commercial places making a big show of their faith for selfish motives but had no intention of obeying the Lord.

There were people such as these all over Thailand.

The Chinese lady wondered aloud, “Where then are the true followers of Christ?”

Vision: The Icescape

Vision: The Icescape

4th March 2014

I saw this vision, yesterday.

A vast frozen area appeared before my eyes. It looked like this entire region had been iced over for years.  Nothing and no one had entered this ice-covered expanse, in a long while.

I then saw people who were ushered into a passageway, to view this place. These men and women thought they were alone as they could not see each other.

As each one stood staring at the rugged icescape, everyone noticed that only certain sections of this vast area began to melt, whilst all else remained unmoved.

Vision: In your lifetime

Vision: In your lifetime

2nd March 2014

I saw many people, in ones, twos, and threes, in canoes.

They had been travelling in these canoes for some time, in search of the place the Lord had told them to occupy.

They had been divinely guided all the way.

Now their canoes slowed down and they were directed to look up at the land the Lord had told them to inhabit.

When the people looked up, they saw that the lands that were allocated to them were filled with strange large and peculiar trees and other odd-looking foliage.

The weird shrubbery and trees and all else that grew upon the land was so unusually tightly packed that there did not appear to be much land they could lay their foot upon.

Furthermore, they had not been given a single  instrument to clear the land.

The people looked flabbergasted. The Lord had supplied them the canoes, the direction, the guidance and a safe journey thus far; why had He provided the land but not the equipment with which to clear it, and make it inhabitable, they wondered. They despaired for a mere moment, that without the proper equipment, their lands would never be cleared in their lifetime; that they would be confined within a minuscule space, in so large an area.

“Will this land be cleared in our lifetime?” the people cried. “Lord, send us instruments with which to at least clear enough space to build a hut”.

They bowed their heads, and as they waited to know what God would have them now do, they all heard one word, “WATCH”.
